This hand colored map was made for “Mitchells New General Atlas” published by S. Augustus Mitchell, Jr. in 1868. France, Spain, and Portugal are illustrated on this map. Two insets show Switzerland in Cantons, and the Island of Corsica. Provinces are distinguished by color. Other details include the names of counties, and important cities, rivers, lakes, mountains, and railroads. The maps in this atlas have beautiful color- more muted than typical.
