This unique little world map gives us a simple and clean look at the world it was known at the time. Whats unique for this brightly colored copper plate engraving is the interesting depiction of the area of the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. This distorted depiction of the Sea of the West, is a strange amalgam of truth and fiction. While this map shows a peninsula roughly in the area of present day Alaska the gulf below it gives way to well into the heart of present day Canada. Condition is very good, with slight transference and a right margin that is trimmed close (no loss). ‘
