Artist and illustrator, Walter Haskell Hinton worked and lived mainly in the Chicago area, but before that, he lived in Denver, where the Sports Afield magazine was created. Sports Afield moved its operations to Chicago where it grew and became the spokesman for hunters, fishermen, campers, and shooters. This illustration was done for the magazine, which is the oldest continuously published outdoor magazine. This antique print depicts a large blue marlin jumping out of the water in front of the boat of fishermen in the background. It would look fantastic framed for any fisherman’s home or office.
